‘IGBOS ARE NOT YET RIPED FOR PRESIDENCY’ - TWEEPS KNOCK BRYMO SAYS

Tweeps knock Brymo for saying ‘Igbos Not Yet Ripe For Presidency

Singer Olawale Olofooro, also known as Brymo has become a subject of conversation on Twitter after the musician openly said that “as long as there is talk about Biafra in the South East, the desire for an Igbo president will remain a pipe dream”.

In a tweet late Wednesday, the singer, who is supporting Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that as long as there is talk about Biafra in the South East, the desire for an Igbo president will remain a pipe dream.

“Well.. no other tribe seems to have a new country yet… as long as there talks by prominent people from Igboland about Biafra an Igbo presidency will be a pipe dream,” Brymo said.

Reacting, tweeps faulted his argument, with many expressing indifference knowing his political leanings.

@AdrianObinna1, said, “God, are you this less critical in your thinking? What's the correlation between Adichie and PO bid for presidency? Also, you’re just a tribal bigot. And I am not surprised. Most of your tribesmen in the APC are the same: very bigoted. Plus, chaos once happened in the SW via OPC.

@Nkemchor_ stated that, “He has been in the music industry for over 10 yrs but Asake of yesterday has made more mark than him in Nigerian Music. The reason is not far-fetched. With a warped reasoning like this brymo really can't go far. This Election season has really exposed the bigotry of many Nigerians”

@VictorIsrael_, also mentioned that “Nobody cares about Brymo’s political choices. It’s his fundamental human right. But if he has to denigrate the Igbos to market his candidate then that’s unacceptable. Peter Obi is a force that reckons with every tribe and neither Brymo nor his unblown music career can stop it”

A PLAYER LIKE CRISTIANO DOES NOT THINK ABOUT MONEY - RIVALDO (BRAZILIAN LEGEND) SAYS

Rivaldo (Brazilian Legend): "A player like Cristiano does not think about money, as he does not need it. If I were in his position, I would have made the same decision. Cristiano's contract is a well-deserved reward & a final culmination of everything he has done in the world of football.

It would have been special to have Cristiano here (Brazil), especially because most Brazilian people like the Portuguese player and all that he has achieved in football. I’m sure it could have been a huge attraction in the country if he had decided to move to Brazil.

Anyway, I think that his decision of moving to Saudi Arabia was the right call if we consider the contract value, that in some way works as a recognition award for his amazing career.

To be paid like this at almost 38 years-old just underlines his importance in the world of football for many years."

THE IMPORTANCE OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE IN IGBO LAND

The Igbo traditional marriage is a popular event in Igbo land.

Young ladies and men who are getting married use it to bring their friends and well wishers to their homes

To showcase the families where they are coming from unlike before especially in the early 1980s,

when it was not as popular as it is today, because at that time,

In Igbo traditional marriage , young ladies would bring their suitors to their parents and kinsmen who drew up a list of things to be done, including the dowry to be paid,

other expenses to be incurred as well as going to the church to solemnize the marriage.

However, traditional marriage cannot be done today in Igbo land without traditional marriage being performed between the parents and relations of the bride and suitor.

Traditional Marriage in Igbo land is giving out a girl that has matured to marry, to the suitor when the suitor comes to the parents

The father and mother of the bride will hand the girl over to the suitor who is always accompanied by his parents and well wishers.

After doing the traditional things that are involved Traditional marriage cannot be neglected in Igbo land.

what people call traditional wedding today in Igbo land is actually the celebration by friends and well wishers of the girl and her husband

After traditional marriage rights that has been earlier done or part of it done before the celebration through eating, drinking and dancing that follows it.

If you do not do traditional marriage  in Igbo land, in the eyes of the kinsmen, men and women, the girl is not yet married, you must do it to put a seal to the marriage.

Where you don’t perform this traditional rights of payment of bride price and the rest of other things, the girl in the eyes of the kinsmen men cannot be given out for marriage.

The implication is that if she bears a child, that child belongs to her father’s home, if you did not pay that bride price, any child she bears does not belong to the husband, but when he pays, the child can now belong to the man.

Igbos charging much on their daughters, before they give them out for marriage.

has gone out of fashion, it is no more obtainable, people don’t  collect exorbitant dowry these days, in order to give out their daughters for marriage, this is because in Igbo land

we do not sell our daughters, so we collect just a token to show that they are coming out from a home, and with time those things are beginning to change,

people now take N100, N1, N5, as a symbol that the girl has been betrothed to the husband, you must pay something before the girl is handed over to the husband,

Traditional marriage is a very important event in Igbo land and if you have not done it,

It means you have not started marriage, it is that time the human beings and the spirits in the community where it is happening welcomes the two people involved in the marriage to be one.

White Wedding was brought by white men, but traditional marriage is where the agreement of being husband and wife is sealed.

In some white weddings, if the traditional marriage activities have not been conducted, some priests do not accept to conduct white wedding.

Some Priests will tell you, go and conduct the traditional marriage first, another thing is any man that grow to marry and have children.

It happens that the son or daughter is performing this ceremony, it gives joy, it is a thing of joy in the life of the man and woman who are giving out their daughter.

when this happens, and in few months or years, he gets a grandchild, he starts answering grandfather while the mother becomes grandmother.

EVERY HUMAN IS SPECIALLY MADE FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES - OBI CUBANA TELLS NIGERIAN YOUTHS

Dear Youth!
Today let's talk about "managing humans"

I mean, managing human beings is one of the

most difficult tasks in life, as all of us are uniquely made.

While some people's understanding may be flexible,

some are way too rigid that u don't even know where to start managing them!

But patience, wisdom, understanding, and love for all will stand you out if you choose to manage humans.

Every human is specially made for special purposes, and every human bring something on the table.

They may be 'off' most times, but they still add value if well managed.

As difficult as some people may be, accomodating them sometimes yield positive results as they tend to change with time!
Love is the greatest weapon here.

Like I always say, people are going through a lot!
But love heals.

As much as you can, be the positive vibe and plug  they need, and show love as much as you can....the world will definitely be a better place!
Have a blessed week

SHOULD I DROWN ALL THESE THOUGHTS OR SHOULD I LEAVE THEM TO FLOAT?” - DAX

“ This was the question I was asking myself once I decided to stop drinking.

4 months then went by and that same question then became one of the main inspirations behind my new song De(p)ression.

Once you no longer have an ESCAPE it’s easy to get LOST in your BRAIN.

De(p)ression is worrying about the PAST and anxiety is worrying about the FUTURE.

For me, this song is a road map to the PRESENT. This is where I want to spend my time. Living in the present.

I’m praying this song can be a road map for others as well. Let’s make an IMPACT. De(p)ression out now…..
