Tinubu’s people don’t know how to campaign. It is extremely easy to expose Peter Obi’s emptiness. All they have to do is compare Obi’s tenure in Anambra to Tinubu’s tenure in Lagos. It is like comparing night and day. 

When Obi governed Anambra, doctors were on strike for 13 months. Anambra FSARS commander under Obi, James Nwafor, was killing youths and dumping them at Ezu River.

That could not have happened in Lagos. Not to talk of infrastructure, where Tinubu floored Obi! Tinubu built railways and roads, ports and free zones, schools and hospitals. And more importantly, Tinubu built men.

What did Obi build? Even the Chairman of Eti-osa LGA in Lagos outperformed Obi in terms of infrastructure! Don’t insult or blackmail me. Just shut my mouth by telling me what Obi built. Name it and shame me. Even till today, Anambra people have to drive to Asabe in Delta to enter a plane to Lagos, because Anambra has no civil passenger airport.

DRIVER ESCAPED DEATH AS TREE FALLS ON CAR IN CALABAR

A driver narrowly escaped death when a tree fell on an Acura Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV in Calabar, Cross River state.

 

The incident happened along Murtala Mohammed Highway on Wednesday morning, September 28, 2022.

 

Eyewitnesses said the driver managed to escape with no injury but the car was badly damaged.

NDLEA sets ablaze 1.8 tons of cocaine recovered by the Agency from a warehouse in Ikorodu

As Marwa promises drug cartels tough time

 

Tougher time awaits drug barons and cartels operating in Nigeria if they fail to back out of their criminal trade and embrace legitimate ventures. Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) gave the assurance on Tuesday 27th September 2022 while leading stakeholders to witness the crushing and setting ablaze 1.8 tons of cocaine recovered by the Agency from a warehouse in Ikorodu area of Lagos last week.

The NDLEA had in a well-coordinated and intelligence led operation that lasted two days last week stormed a hidden warehouse at 6 Olukunola street, Solebo estate Ikorodu where 1.8 tons of cocaine were recovered and five suspects including a Jamaican were arrested. Following the historical seizure, which is the largest in the Agency’s history, an order of the Federal High Court in Lagos was obtained for the public destruction of the consignment.

Speaking at the venue of the public destruction in Badagry area of Lagos Tuesday, Gen. Marwa who was represented by the Agency’s Director, Prosecution and Legal Services, Deputy Commander General of Narcotics, DCGN Sunday Joseph, said the sheer volume of the drug haul, with street value put at two hundred and seventy-eight million, two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($278, 250,000), equivalent to one hundred and ninety-four billion, seven hundred and seventy-five million (N194, 775,000,000) naira, speaks volume about the extent of the nefarious activities of the drug underworld. He said this has made it imperative for Nigerians to continue to support NDLEA in the renewed war against illicit drugs.

He said out of the 1.8-ton seizure, 1, 828 blocks of the cocaine will be crushed and set ablaze while the remnant will be secured for purpose of prosecution of the suspects who were brought to witness the procedure and sign the certificate of destruction. According to the NDLEA boss, “the Agency is proceeding with the prosecution of those arrested in connection with this consignment. On this, the public can rest assured that NDLEA shall pursue the trial to a logical conclusion. Since January 25, 2021, when we commenced our offensive action against drug traffickers, the Agency has secured record convictions. Presently, 2, 904 drug offenders are serving various jail terms, while other cases are ongoing in court, which we are confident will end in positive results too.”

To the drug underworld, he said “the bust of the syndicate responsible for the cocaine warehoused in Ikorodu is a message to drug cartels that their investments in the illicit drug trade will go up in flames as you are about to witness while they also risk losing their freedom because the present NDLEA is committed to arresting, prosecuting and ensuring the conviction of those involved in illicit drugs. That is not all, we now also go after their assets acquired with the proceeds of the criminal trade.”

Marwa said the fact that the Ikorodu operation was conducted clinically without any skirmish or bloodshed is further testimony to the evolution of the NDLEA and its new capabilities, and a pointer to the fact that the game has changed in the war against illicit drugs.

He expressed appreciation to the Agency’s international partners, especially the American Drug Enforcement Administration (US-DEA) that supported the cocaine syndicate bust and the Nigerian military that provided additional firepower during the operation, as well as other law enforcement agencies that have been supporting efforts to rid Nigeria of illicit drugs.

While soliciting for more support for the Agency’s work, Marwa said “the safety of our society is the responsibility of every one of us and every citizen shall be fulfilling his or her civic duty by assisting the Agency to clean up our communities and cities by joining our War Against Drug Abuse (WADA)”, adding that “together, we can make this country secure.”.

IS DUNCAN MIGHTY THE ONLY CHILD ? - THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT DUNCAN MIGHTY

Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu, simply known as Duncan Mighty, is a Nigerian musician, singer, and music producer from Eligbam in Rumueme obio apkor LGA Rivers state.

Born on the 28th of October 1983 in Obio Akpor, Rivers, to Mr and Mrs Okechukwu, as the only child.

He is the founder of JamBase Cable Tv station in Port Harcourt. Wene also has a construction company where he has over three hundred and seventy staffs. His song genre is Reggae, African R&B, and hip hop.

He had his primary and secondary education at  Army Children school G.R.A port Harcourt, and Army day secondary school Boring camp port Harcourt. Afterwards, he went to study Civil Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt. To date, he still works as an engineer in his construction company, whenever he is not working on his music.

Currently, he is married to Vivien Mighty, and they are blessed with three lovely children.

As a young boy Duncan Mighty was an instrumentalist that usually played the drums in church, he was also the choir director and a vocal coach.

Duncan’s love for music, made him go abroad to study audio engineering at Basel University, Switzerland. After his graduation, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted him to work as a sound instructor at Benson and Hedges, Lagos, Nigeria. There was also a time he worked as a sound engineer with Dolphin Studios at the Muson Centre, Lagos.

After his service year, he didn’t leave Lagos. Instead, he stayed behind so that he could work with sound production companies in Lagos, in order to learn and master practical recording and sound production techniques. Duncan eventually left Lagos in 2006, after 6 years of acquiring the knowledge he needed.

He left Lagos for Port Harcourt. Thereafter, he got a job as a sound engineer at D Large Records and 360 Records. Subsequently, he went on to partner with Chris Aire, celebrity jeweler to form the AireMighty Records in 2006.

Duncan Mighty decided to release his first album after his father’s death in 1997. So, in 2008, he released his first studio album – Koliwater. The album contains twenty-two songs including Ijeoma, Scatter My Dada, Dance For Me and Ako Na Uche.

Because of the success of his first album, he started working on the release of his second album Ahamefuna (Legacy) almost immediately. Eventually, he released the album in the second quarter of 2010. Duncan Mighty produced the album alone without any featured artist or guest appearances.

Till date his biggest hit will be a collaboration with Mr Raw. Unu Ge Gbum Madu Ft Nigga Raw, the track details recurrent societal ills which we face in Nigeria. A tune which instills consciousness of the continuous lackadaisical attitude of the government towards the masses.

POLICE ARRESTED A BILLIONAIRE KIDNAPPER , WHO USED TO BE A CLEANER IN A BANK AT YENAGOA

The police in Bayelsa state have paraded John Ewa, the suspected kidnap kingpin recently arrested in the state.

Parading the suspect and his accomplices before newsmen today September 26, the state Commissioner of Police, said that on December 8, one Akeeb Oladele Olushola ‘m’ 48, a Manager of a new generation Bank, was kidnaped at his residence at Old Commissioners Quarters Opolo. He was released on the 12th December after paying a ransom of Eighty (N80) Million Naira.

He said similarly, Danjuma Omeje, 41, a Manager of a new generation Bank in Yenagoa was kidnaped at his residence at Okaka, Yenagoa, on  30th June 2022. He was later released on 14th July 2022 after paying a ransom of 60 million naira - thirty (N30) Million Naira cash and US Dollar equivalent of thirty (N30) Million Naira.

The police commissioner said following a detailed investigation, the ring leader of the kidnap syndicate, Emmanuel Charles Angase ‘m’ 37 years, a native of Azuzuama Community, Southern Ijaw LGA, was arrested.

The police boss said Angase operates a kidnapping camp at Sunikiri creek near Oluasiri in Nembe Local Government Area with his second in command, one Gbalipre Gamage, now at large. Police operatives recovered a brand new Toyota Avalon he bought for his wife with the proceed of ransom he collected.  

''The gang leader Emmanuel Charles Angase has confessed that on 30th June 2022 at about 0600 hours, himself, John Ewa and others at large accosted Danjuma Omeje at the entrance of his house at Okaka, kidnap him and fled in a Blue Toyota Corolla Car with REG NO KJA 225 AY."

He mentioned that the second suspect, John Ikechukwu Ewa ‘m’ 30 years aka John Lion, a native of Eruan Community in Boki LGA, Cross River State,is known for a flamboyant lifestyle on Social Media. He said Ewa is a former cleaner with a new generation bank, and has confessed to having collected Ten (10) Thousand US Dollars from the ransom collected in the kidnap of Danjuma Omeje.

I have been affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party since its inception in 1998. I have never left the party, or being unfaithful to it. I believe that the PDP will win the 2023 Presidential election. But even in the unlikely event we don’t win, I am going NOWHERE!

From my teenage years, I have believed in what the PDP stands for: A united Nigeria, built on equality of the component units, free trade, deregulation, privatisation and a lean federal government. I will always support the PDP candidate and oppose other candidates. That is how party politics work in a democracy. Both in Nigeria and other democracies. 

I even fought Waziri Atiku Abubakar when he left the PDP, and only embraced him when he returned. My loyalty is to my principles, which the PDP espouses. A nation cannot grow if we do not remain loyal to our ideologies, and hop from party to party, seeking a vehicle for our ambitions even if the party philosophy conflicts with our principles. Going through the list above, you immediately see that we are now far from what we used to be and the reason for our insecurity becomes apparent.

The God who gave us these guidelines have not changed. He is not old yesterday and new today as we are sometimes made to believe.

He is constant and has never changed and He will do more for us if only we will depart from our evil ways and look up to Him for every of our needs.

NIGERIA KANO DURBAR FESTIVAL

The Kano Durbar is the largest procession of colourful horses in the world. It has evolved with the history, culture and tradition of the Kanawas (People of Kano) over a long period of time.

The word 'Durbar' comes from Hindi-Urdu 'darbar' - dar meaning door and bar meaning entry or audience.

The location: the city of Kano

Kano is located in northern Nigeria, bordering Jigawa from the north and east, Katsina from the west, Kaduna from the southwest and Bauchi from the southeast. Kano is home to over 3 million people - the Hausa speaking Sunni Muslims, the Kanawa of Hausa and/or Fulani ethnicity and settlers. The city of Kano is known for hosting the most spectacular Durbar Festival each year.

The history

The Durbar festival dates back to over 200 years when horses were used in warfare to protect the Emirate. Each noble household was expected to defend the emirate by performing a regiment. Once a year, the regiments would gather for a military parade to demonstrate allegiance to the Emir, by showcasing their horsemanship, readiness for war and loyalty.

Symbols of royal linage

The procession is strictly men only dressed in magnificent robes and turbans, many with one 'ear' or two sticking out denoting their royal linage.

Turbans

The turban is a symbol of prestige and royalty. The men at the Durbar festival adorn themselves with different colors of turbans.

Music and rhythm

The Durbar festival is filled with spectacular traditional bazaar of African music. Rhythm of the traditional music instruments fill the air.

Hawan Sarki

The Durbar Festival unfolds over four days of grandeur, horsemanship and equestrian parades. Beginning with Hawan Sallah - the Festival Riding, Hawan Daushe, Hawan Nassarawa, and ends with Hawan Doriya. Hawan Daushe is the most intriguing and impressive part of the Durbar celebration, it also features the 'Jahi' the focus of spectators from around the world..

ADDRESSING 10 FALLACIES FROM WIKE’S MEDIA CHAT ON THE ARTIFICIAL PDP CRISIS

The Governor of Rivers state, and an esteemed member of our party, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike addressed the press on current issues within our party, and in the encounter he made some utterances which are fallacious. I believe he did not lie. It may just be a case that, because of the task of running a very successful state, like Rivers, his memory may have failed him. So I have written the below to refresh his memory. 

1. The Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, never promised to resign if a Northern Presidential candidate is elected. Rather, he said openly and on video that he would resign IF the PDP asked him to. And since the PDP NEC passed a vote of confidence in him, why should he resign? 

2. The Peoples Democratic Party did not jettison zoning in favour of the North. Zoning was jettisoned in favour of the South. The last PDP President is from the South. By virtue of the party’s Constitution and tradition, the next President should come from the North. 

3. If Wike has evidence that the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, is not a trustworthy character, he should provide such to the police and other law enforcement agencies. 

4. The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential primaries were not flawed. They were transparent and watched live on TV by Nigerians. A winner emerged. Many also did not win. Saraki, Tambuwal, Mohammed, Hayatudeen, Dele Momodu, Anyim, Fayose, Emmanuel, Momodu and others have not complained of any untoward happenings. 

5. If the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, convened any illegal meetings in the house of retired generals, then proof of that should be tendered by the one making the allegations. By the way, who should the PDP Chairman meet? APC members, like someone we know?  

6. Waziri Atiku could not have promised Governor Wike that Senator Ayu would resign, because he has no power to make Senator Ayu (who was largely brought in by Governor Wike) resign. 

7. How can a man who almost single handedly installed the last two PDP chairmen and many members of the NEC call the same party “arrogant”? If an engineer builds a house and calls it ugly, what is he invariably saying about himself? 

8. Wike says Waziri Atiku is surrounding himself with people without much political value, why is he resisting joining the PCC. We need Wike because he obviously has much political value. 

9. The Peoples Democratic Party has a NEC. The NEC can discipline any member according to the Constitution of the party.

10. Every member of the party is a vital picture, but no member is the big picture. 

11. The PDP Constitution should determine the fate of the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, revealed that Bola Tinubu  the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress pursued  him to join the ruling party with a senatorial ticket.

“I didn’t contest so I can become a vice presidential candidate, I am not like others who were not serious and bought senatorial form alongside presidential form and that’s why when Tinubu offered me senate slot, I didn’t go for it,’’
