I have been affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party since its inception in 1998. I have never left the party, or being unfaithful to it. I believe that the PDP will win the 2023 Presidential election. But even in the unlikely event we don’t win, I am going NOWHERE!
From my teenage years, I have believed in what the PDP stands for: A united Nigeria, built on equality of the component units, free trade, deregulation, privatisation and a lean federal government. I will always support the PDP candidate and oppose other candidates. That is how party politics work in a democracy. Both in Nigeria and other democracies.
I even fought Waziri Atiku Abubakar when he left the PDP, and only embraced him when he returned. My loyalty is to my principles, which the PDP espouses. A nation cannot grow if we do not remain loyal to our ideologies, and hop from party to party, seeking a vehicle for our ambitions even if the party philosophy conflicts with our principles. And by the grace of God, the PDP will win in 2023. And all the party faithful join me in saying…. Reno Omokri
