Tweeps knock Brymo for saying ‘Igbos Not Yet Ripe For Presidency’
Singer Olawale Olofooro, also known as Brymo has become a subject of conversation on Twitter after the musician openly said that “as long as there is talk about Biafra in the South East, the desire for an Igbo president will remain a pipe dream”.
In a tweet late Wednesday, the singer, who is supporting Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that as long as there is talk about Biafra in the South East, the desire for an Igbo president will remain a pipe dream.
“Well.. no other tribe seems to have a new country yet… as long as there talks by prominent people from Igboland about Biafra an Igbo presidency will be a pipe dream,” Brymo said.
Reacting, tweeps faulted his argument, with many expressing indifference knowing his political leanings.
@AdrianObinna1, said, “God, are you this less critical in your thinking? What's the correlation between Adichie and PO bid for presidency? Also, you’re just a tribal bigot. And I am not surprised. Most of your tribesmen in the APC are the same: very bigoted. Plus, chaos once happened in the SW via OPC.
@Nkemchor_ stated that, “He has been in the music industry for over 10 yrs but Asake of yesterday has made more mark than him in Nigerian Music. The reason is not far-fetched. With a warped reasoning like this brymo really can't go far. This Election season has really exposed the bigotry of many Nigerians”
@VictorIsrael_, also mentioned that “Nobody cares about Brymo’s political choices. It’s his fundamental human right. But if he has to denigrate the Igbos to market his candidate then that’s unacceptable. Peter Obi is a force that reckons with every tribe and neither Brymo nor his unblown music career can stop it”
